1. Elections

Elections for the Student Council are held in September. The Executive consists of the President (a Level III student), Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Each candidate must meet the academic guidelines established by the school before being permitted to run for the Student Council. In particular, a student must maintain a good academic standing, at least 70%.
In addition to good academic standing, students running for student council must have demonstrated by their behavior and leadership that they are capable of handling the additional responsibilities. 


Prior to submitting nomination forms, candidates have to present their reasons for seeking the particular office. This presentation is made to the Student Council moderator at an after school session.


Candidates for all positions present their speeches before a student assembly. This setting allows the student body more opportunity to ask questions of the candidates so as to make better decisions relative to who will represent them during the academic year.
