Holy Spirit High Donates to Food Bank

Holy Spirit High School continued its tradition of Community Outreach by again involving students in the community with the school’s annual donation to the local food bank. Rotary Avalon Northeast supported the student effort with a $700 donation to the cause. On Friday, December 18th, students at the school presented the CBS Community Food Bank with a $725.00 cash donation. In addition, some school families were helped with donations of Christmas Hampers and gifts – with another $2100 raised by students.

Principal Scott Crocker said the effort is organized and spearheaded by the school’s Interact Junior Rotary Club and executed by a subgroup titled ‘Students Helping Students’. Mr. Jerry Hynes accepted the donation on behalf of the local food bank from Interact Club President Stephen Brophy, student members, our Challenging Needs class, and teachers April Porter-Crews and Glenda Reddick.
